Melanoma on the rise, indoor tanning sited as cause

Memorial weekend brings lots of outdoor activities with it the desire to be tan.  Just like most things that we want we want it faster, better, cheaper, stronger, ok you get the idea.

The problem is that tanning beds have UV bulbs that are 10-15 times more intense than natural sunlight.  This is cool if you want to tan in a short amount of time, but it dramatically increases your risk of skin cancer.  One session in a tanning bed can actually produce skin damage that doctors attribute the early stages of skin cancer.

This year maybe you should do this nature’s way and just enjoy the outdoors.  Of course make sure you stock up on SPF 15 or better sunblock because mother nature doesn’t always know what is best.
