Rezoning lessons the hard way in Rogers
A while back we reported on a hotel that didn’t get approval to be built in Rogers. As I remember it, they were told that the size of the building didn’t have enough parking and therefore could not be built where it was without making it shorter or changing what it would be used for.
The owners of the land have now appealed to the City of Rogers saying that it shouldn’t have been turned down. They did get approval from the planning commision because it didn’t break building code but City Councel turned it down on the parking issue.
When the land was rezoned in 2005 the developer promised restrictions on the deed to include height. He then sold the property to the current investers. The original developer that rezoned the property lived up to his side of the bargain and put restrictions on it that the citezens agreed to. It [...]
